About the Journal
Founded in 1999, The Lab’s Quarterly is a peer-reviewed social science journal, officially recognized by the ANVUR (National Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research System) as an academic journal in the Area 14 (Political and Social Sciences) of the Italian university system.
The journal aims to contribute to the national and international sociological debate, investigating changes in contemporary societies and adopting the perspective of an open, public and democratic sociology.
The journal seeks to promote dialogue among the multiple fields in the social sciences through calls for proposals and special issues, welcoming contributions from young and early-career researchers. Proposals may include epistemological reflections on the theoretical foundations of social sciences, innovative methodologies of social research, theoretical contributions on contemporary social transformations.
Aims & Scope
The journal’s mission is to advance the sociological understanding of contemporary societies by exploring their changes and challenges from an open, public and democratic perspective.
The journal fosters dialogue among different disciplines within the social sciences through calls for proposals and special issues, and encourages submissions from young and early-career researchers.
The journal welcomes proposals that address epistemological issues on the theoretical foundations of social sciences, innovative methodologies of social research, and theoretical contributions on contemporary social transformations.
The Lab’s Quarterly is an open access journal that adheres to the BOAI definition of open access, which means that all content is freely available without charge to users or their institutions. Users can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.
