Abstract

The contemporary transformation of capitalism is closely linked to the environmental crisis. This paper focuses on the debate surrounding development as a catalyst in the struggle between the spirit of capitalism and ecological critique. It will show how, on the one hand, capitalism is able to absorb ecological critique. However, on the other hand, a radical dimension within ecological critique remains capable of challenging capitalism and its spirit.

Dottorando presso la Scuola di Dottorato in Scienze Sociali ed Economiche della Sapienza Università di Roma, con una borsa finanziata dal CNR – IRCrES. I suoi interessi di ricerca riguardano le trasformazioni del capitalismo in rapporto alla critica ecologista e un’analisi dell’immaginario riguardo lo sviluppo e la sostenibilità.
